Olivia is an experienced counsellor who adeptly fosters a welcoming and non-judgemental atmosphere, guiding her clients towards impactful transformations in their lives. Trained in both psychology and counselling, Olivia employs a client-centred and strengths-based approach towards therapy. She collaborates closely with her clients, and assists them in constructing effective coping strategies, nurturing self-esteem, navigating challenging emotions, and challenging self-limiting beliefs.
Olivia is passionate about working with a diverse clientele and is committed to inclusivity. Her experience spans across non-governmental agencies, secondary schools, and private practice, where she has worked with both youth and adults. She specialises in trauma, depression, grief and loss, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Olivia tailors her approach to each individual client and guides them through evidence-based work to support their mental health needs. She integrates methods such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Practices, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Exposure Response Prevention (E/RP) for OCD.
Olivia is a registered member with the New Zealand Association of Counsellors and a registered member with the ACC Sensitive Claims team, she brings professionalism and a wealth of experience to her practice.
